Moderator Flo and John Brady Meet at Last

April 6, 2024 — Flo Williamson has been a wonderful volunteer site moderator here at Topretirements for a very long time, at least since 2016. Yesterday, we finally met in person for at the Funky Rooster Coffee House and Wine Bar on Key West’s Caroline St. Just as I expected, she is a warm and interesting person. It was a fun visit.
Flo and her husband Jerry were in town on a short trip with friends. They have been hitting some of Key West’s best restaurants, like 7 Fish, Belmar, and Louie’s Backyard, along with the other sights. We had a good visit and short walk around town.
Flo volunteered for this job because she likes the site and wants to help people. If someone posts and asks for help about how to find out more information about this or that community, you probably saw one of her replies with helpful direction. Likewise if we get a Blog comment that might be over the line, the first thing in the morning I’ll get an email from Flo asking if we want to tone it down or even remove it. That is very helpful to all of us here at Topretirements.
The couple lives Philadelphia and are inveterate travellers – both to visit family and for adventure. Perhaps you remember her descriptions of what it might be like to retire near Lake Tahoe, CA (2 part series), or her road trip to North Carolina, or South Carolina. Flo is a very keen observer and excellent writer – her additions to Topretirements have been very valuable.
I am so happy Flo let me know she was in town. It was great to meet her and her husband! Thanks for all the good things she have done for the Topretirements community.
