Updated Topretirements.com Site Launches April 3

April 3, 2023 — The new Topretirements website will launch on April 3. We are aiming for much greater simplicity in our page design and navigation throughout the site. For example, the Home page will have a much simpler and inviting look. A large, clickable state map will help members and visitors find reviews of cities and communities more directly. Placement of ads will be streamlined so as to not interrupt articles, and extraneous other features will be eliminated.
The fine communities that advertise with us will enjoy much better exposure as well. Top and Showcase listings will enjoy a new, cleaner look with additional features to engage visitors.
The Daily Alert will pause for a few days while we complete the transition.

Here is a quick update on the new site. It did launch last week and seems to be working well. There was a glitch with the Daily Alert going out every day, but that has been resolved. Another problem was that, unless you were logged in, there was no way to post Comments to Blog articles. That was fixed yesterday. Location maps in some states were inaccurate in many cases, but most have been corrected and the remainder will be OK within a few days. There is a long list of other minor corrections to be made, but overall we are pleased with the look of the new site and ease of finding things. What happened to the STATE GUIDES on your website? It gave good information about which state taxes SS, pensions etc. Information about the property taxes, inheritance taxes, etc. There used to be a tab on the Home Page that said STATE GUIDES and the orange map would come which you would then click on the state of interest. Now I get a blue map of the US but when I click on a state, all I get are retirement communities - none of which I am interested in. Does the STATE GUIDE still exist maybe under a different tab? If not, please bring it back. I refer to it all the time while I house hunt.
Reply: The State Retirement Guides are there, whew. They are under the "Best States to Retire" tab at the top of the page. The country guides are still a little harder to find - you can replace "italy" in this url with another country name to find them
