Topretirements Retires Google Ads

May 2, 2024 – There’s a much cleaner look at Topretirements – there are no more Google ads on our pages. Since the site started in 2007 we have relied on the ads from the search engine giant for the bulk of the revenue that allowed us to produce this free website. In some years the income was terrific. In recent days you couldn’t even buy a cup of coffee with what they generated, despite ads in multiple locations on our pages. Last year we terminated (with some difficulty) the extremely annoying and highly unpopular “vignette” ads that popped up when you went from page to page on the site. We have had a long and beneficial relationship with Google, but times have changed.

Not having the Google ads has had some immediate benefits. Our pages are much cleaner and easier to read. And they load a lot faster too. We hope you enjoy the improvement!

So how is Topretirements supported – and how can we keep it coming? The answer is the support from you our Members. Tell your friends about us, and forward our Free newsletter to your friends. That will keep our viewership stats growing, and our advertisers happy.
