New ‘Best Places to Retire’ Web Resources Launched
Category: General Retirement Issues
August 30 — We are very pleased to announce 5 new mini-sites to help provide extra information and resources on some of the hottest retirement issues and best places to retire. These sites are especially useful because they gather a great deal of useful and relevant information in one easy to use resource.
AffordableRetirements.com – Find out more not only about where the affordable places are, but how to plan for and achieve an affordable lifestyle as well. A special feature of this site is a list of 50 affordable places to retire – locations that also happen to have above average cultural appeal.
Arizona-Retirement.com – Here in one place is more useful information about the Grand Canyon State – one of the world’s top retirement destinations. There is information about whether or not Arizona is tax-friendly for retirees (it is), as well as the Pros and Cons associated with retiring to Arizona. Use it as your research assistant and find out if the deserts and mountains of Arizona are meant for your retirement.
RetireinBeaufort.com – Beaufort,SC is amazingly popular with retirees (it is #8 at Topretirements.com). Being located near Hilton Head Island, Savannah, and Charleston certainly doesn’t hurt this charming town. This new mini-site is a one stop resource for learning more about the Low Country retirement experience. Its “Retire in Beaufort” section includes information about neighborhoods as well as the Pros and Cons of living here.
RetirementinGeorgia.com – In our opinion Georgia is an under-rated retirement state. Georgia offers amazing diversity, as it extends from Atlantic Ocean beaches to the Blue Ridge Mountains. It includes the dynamic urban center, Atlanta, as well as the historic planned city of Savannah. Find out more about this state and how it might fit your retirement plans at this new mini-site, which also includes a run-down on Georgia as a tax-friendly state.
TheVillageRetirement.com – The #1 most popular active adult community at Topretirements is The Villages, located near Ocala in Central Florida. This new website has a section entitled “Is The Villages for You” as well as one on “What Retirement is Like in the Villages. A friend of ours and accomplished photographer who lives in The Villages, Len Farrell, provided us with a special photo section of the community.
The 5 new sites join 20 others in the Topretirements network (see the entire list at About Us). One of the more interesting features of all of the new sites is the addition of Google News Feeds relating to each topic, which allows visitors to see breaking news related to each website’s content.
What do you think? Do you have more ideas on websites we should develop? Are there other features we should include? Do you have stories to relate about these places? We are always interested in your opinions, so please feel free to use the Comments section below.

We received this comment about our new site on The Villages (www.thevillageretirement.com)
"In viewing the report on The Villages, I find that under the "Charm" Section, it is incorrectly reported that the community is mostly made up of "manufactured homes". This assumption is incorrect, while the original site has manufactured homes, the bulk of the homes are either stick built or a concrete block construction. Please correct the error. Thank you"
We are going to research this some more and will correct assuming this checks out.
