Instant Poll: Where to on Your Favorite Cruise
Category: Travel
Sept. 24, 2024 — This is our second poll on that ever-popular retirement activity – cruises. Last week we asked you to vote on your favorite cruise line (ocean or river), this week’s is on your favorite cruise destination (where you’ve been or most want to visit). We will report on the results for both polls next week, which ought to be interesting. In last week’s poll the voting so far for favorite cruise line shows Viking on top, with a very close race for second place. One thing we found out so far – there are a lot of cruise lines!

I think this should be re-worded. The question in the title and the poll question don't really mean the same. My favorite cruise would be a Leeward Island cruise. The cruise I currently most want to take is Alaska. Where would be my favorite destination? South Sea Islands.
Editor Comment. I agree with you, this was a tough question to pose. Felt like if we asked for cruise you want to take that might leave out a favorite you already took. So feel free to add detail in the comments. I my case I voted for my favorite cruise I have been on, to Antarctica. But I loved our cruise around Japan and also along the Dalmatian Coast.

Favorite cruise line is Uniworld; we’ve taken 5. Our riverboat cruise on the Danube and Rhine was the best in every way; food, accommodations, staff,
Tours, etc.

Never have been on a cruise..why get sick or end up with a disease with a boatload of other people and be quarantined where the “facilities” are nothing like home. I can go to the local downtown scene or similar and catch something and then be in my own home in comfortable “facilities” and I can call my doctor and feel confident I will be better in a day or three, not a week or three..lol

One of the big questions I had with some fellow travelers was what was the best way to visit certain places. Ship or land based. The idea of not having to unpack and travel from hotel to hotel is appealing to me about going by ship, but others say with certain places like Iceland and New Zealand you just can't see enough, and spend a lot of time on buses. Tough question, very personal answer. Another question is what size of ship - small, medium, large. They all have their pluses and minuses. Me, I like small.
