Pawleys Plantation is a resort community on Pawley’s Island just south of Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. This golf-oriented community was built in 1988 in several phases. The clubhouse features a conference center, dining rooms and a newly opened restaurant with a dramatic view of the 18 th hole and adjacent lake. A swimming pool next to the clubhouse delivers includes great views of the clubhouse, lake and marsh. Pawleys Plantation features a harmonious mix of 600 single-family homes, townhomes, and condos. Homes are set well back from the Jack Nicklaus layout, and most of the second nine plays along an expansive marsh that separates the community from the Atlantic Ocean barrier island. The beautiful Pawleys Island beach is a mere six-
minute drive from the community’s front gate.
About Our Community
Homes for sale in Pawleys Plantation are of different types – townhomes, patio homes and single-family residences — and typically in demand. The challenging and beautiful Jack Nicklaus golf course recently reopened after undergoing a $2 million renovation, its first major redo in its 35-year span. The greens have been restored to their original sizes, the greenside bunkers have been pulled closer to the putting surfaces, and a few trees have been removed to promote even better turf conditions.
The inventory of homes and properties for sale in Pawleys Plantation has been especially thin since the pandemic drove people from cities to relocate to quiet areas like Pawleys Island. A few choice homesites remain but this popular near-ocean golf community is almost totally built out, with only resales currently available for purchase.
