Overview
Moss Creek pretty much led the way for the explosion of golf communities in Bluffton, SC, just over the bridge from the popular Hilton Head Island. When it opened in the early 1970s, Moss Creek’s two golf courses were considered good enough to host an annual event on the LPGA tour. That event, which attracted the likes of hall of famers Amy Alcott and Nancy Lopez, ran for a decade.
About Our Community
Moss Creek itself is still going strong as it nears its 50th anniversary. Sited almost at the foot of the bridge to Hilton Head, Moss Creek is closer to the Atlantic Ocean beaches on the island than are other Bluffton-area communities. Its 36 holes of golf are
early samples of the work of the legendary Tom Fazio, who has been pretty much Bluffton’s “in-house” golf course designer, responsible for the 36-hole layouts at Belfair and Berkeley Hall as well. Moss Creek certainly does not lack for amenities; besides the golf, it offers professionally designed “composition” tennis courts, a large and
comprehensive fitness center, boating, fishing and plenty of walking trails.
