Cambridge is a waterfront community with a lot of colonial heritage and maritme tradition, with a downtown that offers a variety of shops, cafes, and galleries.  The town is not far from large cities such as Baltimore, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia. The 400-room Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay resort, which includes a golf course, spa, and marina is a popular new addition to the town.

Cambridge  is a former commercial town  that relied on food processing for the local economy, but a lot of that business went away leaving Cambridge struggling for many years. It is cool during the winter months with an average January temperature under 40 degrees. The crime rate is above the national average.  The nearest large airport is about 75 miles away.
