Because of the diverse ethnic population, Deleware celebrates with an Italian festival, a Greek festival, along with Polish, African American and Hispanic celebrations.  The Clifford Brown Jazz Festival is an annual event, as is the  Riverfront Blues Festival.  The city has been revitalizing a former shipyard area known as Wilmington Riverfront, which includes a children's museum, shops, dining, theater company and a high-rise luxury apartment building.
