Hendersonville is a fast growing town in Northern Tennessee, about 20 miles northeast of Nashville, with a population of 61,753 (2020 census). The town is located on Old Hickory Lake and is popular for its scenic beauty and outdoor recreation. The lake provides boating, fishing, and water sports and is host to national fishing tournaments. Hendersonville also boasts golf courses and several parks with lighted football fields and baseball fields,volleyball and tennis courts, and miles of greenways. Rock Castle is one of the first stone buildings in Tennessee which was built by Revolutionary War Veteran Daniel Smith, and is listed with the National Register of Historic Places. Due to its proximity to Nashville and the music scene, many country western singers are said to make their homes here or are known to visit the lake. Taylor Swift attended her first two years of high school in Hendersonville and Jonny Cash, along with his wife June Carter Cash, had a home on Old Hickory Lake, and are buried in Hendersonville's cemetery. In 2009, Family Circle Magazine named Hendersonville as one of the 10 Best Cities for Families.
