Restaurants & Cultural Scene
Guimarães, especially for a mid-sized city, is a cultural capital. Its castle is crumbling, but offers amazing views. There are many museums, ranging from 14th to 16th century art to prehistory and protohistory collections. There are concert cafes, a rich library, art lab and a cultural center built in 2006 from a recovered old palace. There are many affordable and delicious restaurants in the city center.
Crime
Tourism, retirees, and lumber are the major industries.
Medical facilities
Although Sequim has a nice old downtown there was a lot of pressure put on it during the boom of 2004 -2006 - buildings were out of scale and everywhere. Fortunately there has been a movement to control growth. It is a fairly long drive or ferry ride to Seattle.
Transportation
Retirees, pilots, and second home owners who like the mountains and water will enjoy Sequim.
