Overview

Pickering Manor, located in Newtown, Pennsylvania, about 30 miles north of Philadelphia,  was opened in 1963 thanks to the generosity of Mr Henry Russell Pickering. He bequeathed his home and a sum of money for the creation of a retirement center to serve the older citizens of Newtown and vicinity. Our independent living cottages, apartments and our personal care and rehabilitation, as well as our wide range of community activities and services, are designed to enable our residents to live life to the fullest. This non-profit retirement community  is owned and operated by the Community Welfare Council of Newtown.
