Tulsa is located in the northeast corner of Oklahoma, at the foot of the Ozark Mountains. It has a large number of lakes and hills, compared to the rest of the state, and contains more than half of its parks. Tulsa is considered Oklahoma's cultural and arts center, as it is home to two world-renowned art museums, along with professional opera and ballet companies. Thanks to the vast oil wealth it accumulated as the headquarters for many oil companies, Tulsa is also a college town with over a dozen institutions of higher learning, which include the University of Tulsa, Oral Roberts University, and Rogers State University. In 2012, Business Week ranked Tulsa as one of the top 50 best cities in America. The oil industry has long been the centerpiece of the Tulsa economy, but there is economic diversity. According to Wikipedia the city's largest employer is an American Airlines maintenance facility at the Tulsa International Airport. There is also an inland seaport.

Tulsa is in the northeast corner of Oklahoma.  The average January temperature is in the high 30s and the average July temp is in the low 80s.

Restaurants & Cultural Scene

One of the most impressive features about Tulsa is that 1% of the city budget is dedicated to public displays of art. Tulsa has a long list of cultural institutions, including its universities and colleges. There are a number of museums including the Philbrook Museum, which is considered one of the top 50 fine art museums in the United States(see this article in the WSJ).  Art and artifact collections of the American West are featured at the Gilcrease Museum. There are ballet, opera, and symphonies companies, in addition to several theatres. The centerpiece of the downtown Brady Arts Distric is the Brady Theater.
