Neghboring towns include Aurora and Cuyahoga Falls.The population is 22,000. Its original downtown is well preserved and busy today. The Little Tikes company used to be located here. The city was founded by David Hudson of Goshen, Connecticut when this part of Ohio was the Western Reserve. In 2010, the city was named as one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People by America's Promise. A large area of the village is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. There more than one thousand acres of parkland in the city. The downtown shopping area in the Historic District is still actively in use. The Underground Railroad went through here; in fact John Brown spent his childhood in Hudson.
