Davidson is located in the Piedmont of North Carolina in northern Mecklenburg County, 20 miles north of Charlotte. Lake Norman is to the west. The average July temperature is about 80 and the average Jan. temperature is 40.

The downtown has restaurants and shops like you would expect in a college town. Davidson is served by a branch of the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. The Davidson College Arboretum dates back to the 1850s. It also features the Katherine and Tom Belk Visual Arts Center.
