What It Is Like to Retire in Millbrook
Millbrook is a very charming village in Dutchess County, not very far from the Hudson River. It is one of the wealthiest towns in New York State, attracting well-off New Yorkers who come here for the weekends. In a way it is the inland version of the Hamptons, except a lot more subdued. Horses are very big in Millbrook, population 1,500. On some Sundays members of the Hunt Club ride with the hounds over the extensive trail system through the area. The Millbrook School is a famous prep school. The downtown is cute, so is the Millbrook Golf & Tennis Club.
