Monterrey is a large city with many neighborhoods including some that are more popular with expats.There are many housing options here including villas, apartments and high-rise condos. A recent search found very nice houses and apartments for sale for between the mid $100s and $300s. The suburb of San Pedro Garza García is said to offer the best quality of life in Mexico.

Monterrey is one of the warmest large cities in Mexico. The average January temperature is 58 degrees and July's average is 84 degrees. The rains from Hurricane Alex caused much water damage to the city in 2010.

The city does offer public transportation with bus lines and has a rapid transit system. There are two international airports that serve Monterrey.
