Although it is quite rural in this part of Georgia it is an easy drive to Athens (University of Georgia) and Atlanta. Greensboro itself is a small town of about 3200 and the county seat of Green County. Many luxury resorts, developments, and golf courses have been built along the shores of Lake Oconee.
