Loveland is a rapidly growing community in northeastern Colorado near Fort Collins. The population in 2010 was almost 67,000 and growing very rapidly. It was originally an agricultural community famous for sugar beets and cherries. Denver is about 50 miles to the south. Loveland enjoys a very low crime rate and has been chosen for numerous awards as a great community to live in. There is a popular public arts program with 300 pieces of art. There are 2 community colleges in Loveland. Many new people are moving to Loveland from other parts of the country. Here is a comment from 1 person in a City-Data.com Forum: " I got the sense that Loveland had more retirees (healthy vibrant energetic active ones) and Fort Collins had more college aged kids with a growing baby boomer population." We are not sure how typical that comment might be, but it is interesting. It is on the Colorado Front Range along the Big Thompson River Canyon. It is near the entrances to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.
